The final step in the Remanufacturing Roadmap project was an in-depth roadmapping workshop that took place on September 29th to September 30, 2016 at the Embassy Suites Detroit in Troy, Michigan. There were seventeen RIC members participating in the workshop from a variety of different industry sectors. Their contributions to the roadmap are essential to identifying remanufacturing research priorities.
The event was a working, active-participation workshop where the group honed in on cross-cutting challenges; identified remanufacturing industry advanced technology objectives; and set research priorities.
Participants received two documents prior to attending the event: Reman Industry Survey Analysis and Reman Industry Literature Analysis. The results of the remanufacturing survey. The survey results were used to carefully craft the four breakout sessions. The sessions included:
- Design and information flow
- Remanufacturing process technology
- Condition assessment and reliability engineering
- Market access and business models
The information gathered will be synthesized into an actionable plan to advance the US remanufacturing industry, and help guide future government investment.
RIC members can access the Literature Analysis document in the Member Area of the RIC website. We will communicate when the Survey Analysis is available for viewing in the Member Portal.
