Jasper Engines, Now 75, is Still Growing

by Michelle Hayes

Three-quarters of a century ago, after having been advised against bringing a Ford dealership to Jasper, Ruxer founded the Jasper Engines Exchange in the dealership’s wash rack. The company has since grown from a local operation to a powerhouse that employs 2,320 people at 44 branch and distributor locations.

And after 75 years, Jasper Engines & Transmissions — the same company that has expanded to specialize in remanufacturing transmissions, differentials, diesel engines and marine products — is still looking ahead. Marketing manager Mike Pfau said JET — the United States’ largest remanufacturer — is now growing in the remanufacturing of diesel air and fuel components and turbochargers.
